Slovenia 2 Euro 2024 Library UNC

The coin depicts a slightly tilted door handle of the National and University Library, on which Pegasus is visible – a winged divine stallion used by the architect Jože Plečnik as a symbolic guide for visitors to the library into the world of knowledge. The door handle is the first contact with the institution that invites us into the world of knowledge and inspiration. At the top, in a semicircle, is the inscription "NARODNA IN UNIVERZITETNA KNJIŽNICA". At the bottom is the name of the issuing country "SLOVENIJA" and below it – the year of issue "2024". The outer ring of the coin depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
